Luke needs no introduction to the Folk in the Barn audience having virtually grown up on stage in front of them over the past seven years.  At the end of  last year Luke put together a Trio comprising himself and two college friends Andy Sharps and Connor Downs for a one-off gig for Folk in the Barn.  It was an outstanding gig and the response was so positive, they’ve decided to carry on playing together and have been in the studio to record an EP.    When Luke asked us to host the EP launch concert – we couldn’t refuse.  If you missed the Trio last December, make sure you don’t this time around.

For those who don’t yet know…. Luke is a young Roots singer/songwriter from Canterbury, Kent.  2013 saw him nominated for both the BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award for Best Emerging Talent and the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. 2014 saw the release of his second album Fumes and Faith with his launch gig at Cecil Sharp House followed by concert and festival bookings all across the country.

With a bold, show stopping voice and honed guitar skills, Luke is a confident and captivating performer demonstrating an astonishing maturity. He has been making ripples on the live acoustic scene supporting such luminaries as Show of Hands, Paul Brady, Chris Wood, Steve Knightley, Karine Polwart and Oysterband.

Connor and Andy have known and played music with Luke since meeting at Canterbury College in 2010.  The trio have recorded together for the Sleepyhead Recordings, Studio Road Tour Sessions which can be seen on You Tube.  This Autumn Luke toured Scotland with Andy accompanying him on bass, and has just returned from a Tour of Europe this time with Connor adding drums to the performance.   This coming Sunday sees Luke heading back to Europe to open for Marillion on their tour.  Playing huge sold out venues.  Luke has also just finished a successful double header tour with Amy Wadge, co-writer of the current number one song in the US – Thinking Out Loud with Ed Sheeran.
