Dougie is another of our favourite and most inspirational artists at Folk in the Barn.  We usually have to wait three or four years before having to chance to re-book him, so we were thrilled to discover that just a year on from his wonderful concert at the Gulbenkian last summer, he is back in the South East this summer and coming back to play for us at the Gulbenkian again.

“Dougie MacLean is Scotland's finest singer-songwriter and a ‘National Treasure’. Internationally renowned for his song 'Caledonia', music for 'Last of the Mohicans' and inspired performances… including his ending of the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last Summer, which was viewed by over a billion people worldwide and where he had Lulu and Kylie as his backing singers!

He has received two prestigious Tartan Clef Awards, a place in the Scottish Music Hall of Fame, a Lifetime Achievement Award from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and an OBE!!

His third visit to Folk in the Barn – You don’t miss a chance to book Dougie MacLean!

“A musical hero”  Wall Street Journal

"...a Scottish phenomenon...with his exquisite guitar style, expressive voice and honest performance, his songs conjure up remarkably vivid imagery of our world"
The Performing Songwriter, USA

Toby Shaer
Opening the evening will be the extraordinary young celtic folk musician – Toby Shaer.  Toby has started his musical career playing with the best in the world – Mike McGoldrick, John McCusker, John Doyle and Heidi Talbot to name a few…..
Toby will be joined for his set by Young Folk Award winner Ciaran Algar.
