Reg Meuross & Tom Palmer - The Travelling Talesmen

Saturday 19th February 2011

St Gregory's, Canterbury

Reg Meuross and Tom Palmer are two of the West Country's finest singer-songwriters. Performing as The Travelling Talesmen their contrasting styles weave together seamlessly to produce a evening full of songs - tales of love, legends, villainy and heroism, friendship and fools. On stage together throughout the show, they swap songs, sing solos and perform inspired duets from their joint repertoire; drawing from a collection of self penned songs taken from their critically acclaimed solo albums.

Reg Meuross is described as a ‘master storyteller’ (Pennyblack Music). Using clever and imaginative lyrics, Reg has earned his reputation as one of the most talented folk/roots musicians around. From gigging in village halls to The Royal Albert Hall, Reg consistently delights his audiences with songs of life, love and injustice; all soulfully delivered with melodic high-tenor vocals, exemplary guitar playing and a warm, engaging style which draws you into his music.

Tom Palmer is described by Mike Harding as a 'great singer-songwriter'. He was the first artist signed by Phil Beer (Show of Hands) to his Chudleigh Roots label and is a big man with a musical personality to match. 'His gravelly and deeply powerful resonant voice is an extraordinary instrument; his guitar playing is both accomplished and satisfying' (Netrhythms). Combined with songs of passion and places, of tenderness and torn lives, emotions and everything in between, Tom is firmly placed amongst the ‘must-sees’.

Perfect entertainment for a winters evening.
