Richard is a BAFTA Nominated  entertainer and a Gold Award recipient from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. He is also listed in the Virgin Anthology of Music as an influential writer of comedic songs. Not many guitarists have played a duet with Queen's Brian May, worked with Steve Martin, played an acoustic set with Status Quo or performed at The London Palladium with the late Robin Williams.

Richard has 3 million YouTube hits, 27 albums and a Golden Anniversary tour, 50 years of songs and stories, coming in 2017 . We’re booking him 6 months early – while we can still afford him!

Richard is also an established poet, his works are used around the world as English teaching aids for schools and universities.

Well known and loved by followers of Countdown and by Fairport’s Cropredy Convention Fans. His Saturday morning spot at Cropredy has become an institution.  We at Folk in the Barn love Richard and have long wanted him to be part of our programme.

Richard will be supported by annA rydeR

annA is a superb singer-songwriter and talented multi-instrumentalist whose songs are consistently original and inventive. She combines a captivating stage presence with an endearing naivety that reaches out to the whole audience.

annA has performed mainly on the folk scene playing all kinds of venues from small clubs to large festivals. She’s made five albums including  ‘Pockets On Fire’ which was released on the Fairport Convention label ‘Woodworm’ with Fairport playing on eight of the tracks.

Fairport Convention covered and recorded Anna’s songs: ‘Sailing Boat’ in 1997, ‘The Crowd’ in 2002 and ‘Bring Me Back My Feathers’ in 2015. Anna played the 20,000 strong Cropredy Festival from 1998 to 2005 and then again in 2014 – three of these performances being full sets of her own. She also played there on Eddi Reader’s set in 2001 and as part of Deborah Rose’s band in 2014 and, continuing her relationship with Fairport, supported them on their UK Winter Tour in 1999 as well as joining them on several of their acoustic UK tours and recording on five of their albums.

"I first heard annA perform three years ago in Coventry, and since then I have been, I think, her biggest fan. The originality of her songs and her musicianship place her in the forefront of young British singer-songwriters.  Why she is not headlining concerts seven days a week is a mystery to me."
