Skipinnish are hitting new heights! Their 2019 album, “Steer by the Stars” has given the band another huge surge in popularity, reaching No. 4 in the Mainstream UK Download Charts - astounding for a traditional Celtic music band. Following three sold-out major Summer shows in Scotland to mark their 20th Anniversary, and busy winter Scottish tour, the band are looking forward to even bigger things in 2020 and venturing further afield with a tour of England.

They will play their debut show  for Folk in the Barn in Canterbury on the 24th May 2020, following on from their recent storming shows at many English Festivals.

The last 2 years have been the biggest for the band since they began way back in 1999 when co-founders Andrew Stevenson and Angus MacPhail joined forces.  With increased numbers in the band from these early days and with the addition of lead vocals and full back line, recent years have seen this band hit the very top of the music scene in Scotland.  With hit after hit of self penned songs and a strong mix of powerful bagpipe, fiddle and accordion led tune sets, they encompass the very best of contemporary Celtic Music.

Their now classic anthems, Walking on the Waves, The Island, Alive, December and many others will be mixed with their powerful bagpipe tune sets and hits from the new album at their exciting Canterbury performance.

Bands rise and fall, but at this moment in history, Skipinnish are undoubtedly the kings of their realm. On the 24th May 2020 The Gulbenkian, Canterbury will be rocking to the magic of this Celtic Music success story.

“I’ve been walking, walking these shores all my days……….”
