Luke is a young Roots singer/songwriter from Canterbury. He’s been performing live since the age of 13.

Over the past 2 years Luke has opened for many top artists including Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, Megson,  Little Johnny England, Lucy Ward, Boo Hewerdine, Martyn Joseph, Steve Knightley, Show of Hands, Chris Wood and Paul Brady amongst others.

2012 has been a fantastic and busy year for Luke. He signed to Martyn Joseph's Pipe Records Label and recorded his debut CD 'More Than Boys'  which was officially released in early August at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, where Luke also played as Steve Knightley's  'Patrons Choice' act.  So far the CD is generating great reviews and Luke is now supporting Martyn on his 30 date UK autumn tour ending in December.

Luke will be attending the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in January 2013 at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall as part of the Celtic Connections festival.  Luke has been nominated for 2 awards, the HORIZON AWARD for the best newcomer and the BBC RADIO 2 YOUNG FOLK AWARD .

We at Folk in the Barn have been closely following Luke’s amazing progress for the past five years and have delighted in seeing him become the mature and talented young artist he now is. Having invited him to play many times for us as support to some major artists, we are very pleased to offer Luke his own headline gig albeit in a cosy venue, but I guarantee it won’t be long before he’s selling out some of the UK’s larger venues.

This is the second in our series of our ‘Even Cosier’ winter gigs, held at the Black Robin Inn, Kingston.
