Yes it's true.  Not only is Canterbury lucky enough to have Fairport include us on their rockin Winter Tour, but we're also thrilled to host the very special and intimate Spring Acoustic Tour AS WELL!     The guys are back at the beautiful Cathedral Lodge which they love to play.  So if you missed out on a Winter Tour ticket - here's your chance to see them, but do come again anyway because there is no band like Fairport.

We sadly missed out on the first 30 years of this amazing band, but as this will be their 7th visit to us at Folk in the Barn - you could say we're making up for lost time.

After nearly 50 years on the road Fairport Convention, the originators of British folk-rock music, remains one of the most entertaining bands on the live music scene.

This year's Spring Tour features all five members of Fairport and presents a more intimate take on the band's repertoire. This concert will showcase brand new songs and tunes from the band’s 2015 album Myths And Heroes. – however, favourites from the band's back catalogue will not be forgotten.

Fairport Convention features Simon Nicol on guitar and lead vocals, Dave Pegg on bass and backing vocals, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki and lead vocals, Ric Sanders on violin and Gerry Conway on percussion.

Fairport has won a coveted BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and the band was recently the subject of a major music documentary on BBC Four television. Radio 2 listeners voted Fairport’s groundbreaking album Liege & Lief  'The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time';
