Seeing as the number of deaths from Covid isn't falling and cases are still high, we shall be continuing with our Covid Prevention Measures, until such time as both these things improve considerably.  This means we ask all attendees to please take a lateral flow test on the day of the concert and bring proof of your negative result OR bring proof of full vaccination if you are unable to test.   Please also, wear a good quality (three layer or FFP2/N95) face mask whilst in the building, removing only to eat or drink.   These precautions, not only protect ourselves, and the other members of the audience, some of whom may be vulnerable, but also the musicians (and promoters) who are still suffering the effects of very little work at all during 2020/2021.  We understand the health risk to those vaxxed and boosted is now low, but having to cancel and reschedule a tour - again - after two years of doing this repeatedly would be unthinkable.

Miranda Sykes

The Farmhouse Sessions Tour 2022

Since 2004 Miranda has been best known for her collaboration with Show of Hands but has toured with other bands, in duos, as a soloist and even fronting her own band. She has been ‘on the road’ for 25 years since the age of seventeen.

The Covid 19 Pandemic, despite the horror of the uncertainty and sadness it brought, also offered a time of reflection whilst ‘normal’ life ground to a halt and spawned a new way for many to access live music - through the internet.

Performing three-weekly concerts on Facebook between chemotherapy cycles for breast cancer became a lifeline for Miranda, reminding her of her own identity during a dark time. It also became a lifeline for many people who were unable to leave their homes to enjoy the music they love. Because of these concerts, Miranda decided to record a CD at home and ask her online audience to choose the songs to be featured on it.

The Farmhouse Sessions covers the whole of Miranda’s career and is a celebration of life and love in all its forms.

This tour is an opportunity for her to bring these beautiful songs to life on stage and use her voice to spread hope and happiness for all our futures.
