Ranagri is an award winning folk band from Ireland and England. With a unique blend of instruments that includes voices, guitar, bouzouki, flutes, whistles, harp/ electric harp, and bodhrán/drums. They create a sound that is both mesmerising and unforgettable.
The Band are Jordan Murray, Eleanor Dunsdon, Eliza Marshall and Dónal Rogers. They are as happy to make you dance as they are to make you smile or shed a tear, passionately delving into current world topics, playing with politics, and creating uplifting music to lyrics with great depth.
Ranagri have established themselves as a standout act, drawing in crowds from around the world with their captivating live performances and exceptional musicianship. They have performed at some of the most prestigious venues & festivals across the UK and Europe, including Cambridge Folk Festival, Bloom festival (Dublin), Montelago festival (Italy), Towersey Festival, a headline slot at Costa Festival Ibiza 2023, Birmingham Symphony Hall, The Union Chapel, Kings Place London along with regular tours of Scotland and Europe.
Their recent release – Tradition II – is the sequel to their acclaimed album Tradition – exploring traditional folk songs – deconstructing and reconstructing – trying to seek out alternative meaning whilst adding the unique Ranagri flavours; harp, flutes, guitars, dulcimer and percussion all woven together with lead vocals and harmonies.
Fatea Magazine - Band of the Year 2022
‘Echoes of Pentangle, Jethro Tull and new Celtic folk sounds cemented by strong contemporary songwriting’ RTE
‘Joyous and thoughtful, with a depth that repays careful listening in spades. Makes for enthralling listening’ Folk Radio UK
Simon and I along with Chris and Linda Leslie, saw them properly for the first time at Costa Festival in Ibiza in April. They left us all open-mouthed. One track in particular was so beautiful it moved us all to tears. Their agent was standing nearby and I booked them straight away, no hesitation. Debs
